From London scenes to Mayan jungle to Ann Arbor streets (after living there 20+ years, I think I recognize a few of the people), Jonathan Rowe interweaves an intricate but understandable plot. I especially enjoyed the legal logic, even carried into pirate rules of conduct. The sensual parts were quite well-done, leading to interesting considerations about authorial research. After I finished, I found myself wondering about what the characters were up to in future chapters, as yet unwritten. When the reader continues to think about the characters, that's a sure sign of an entertaining book. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
An historical thriller about a modern British biologist seeking to conquer death, who joins forces with an American soldier-of-fortune, a Belizean archeologist and an American paralegal, to try to retrace the steps of past explorers in their failed quest to find the fountain of youth, hidden for centuries by the Maya in Belize.
