Excellent book! This book is so important for everyone to read. I have gone through watching one husband and my father pass away from my cancer and now my husband has survived cancer for 5 years. It has given me a whole new perspective on how to look at life and what is really important. Thank you Karen for writing and sharing this book. ( )

Having a husband with Stage IV Prostate Cancer, I found this book to be helpful in many ways. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I don't agree with the religious overtones of the book. The author was well versed in all areas of disease, dying, and life itself. Just wish she would have left the religious stuff out of it. ( )

What Really Matters: 7 Lessons for Living from the Stories of the Dying (Paperback)
WHAT REALLY MATTERS BY DR. KAREN WYATT

Dr. Karen Wyatt shares some of her experiences with patients and friends over the years from her work in hospice. She truly is able to share the things she's learned about both living and dying. This is one of the best books I've read.

Dr. Wyatt points out that the dying have so much to offer the living about what's important, and what not to waste our precious time worrying about. Her book has so much to teach us about shared humanity, the sometimes small things that really do matter that we don't take the time to think about, and the importance of living not only each day, but each moment in every day.

Her book so frequently made me think, or stop to write down something she said so I could remember it later. As much as I read, seldom do I respond so positively to a book and so immediately.

This is a book that is so profound and beautiful that I'd love to share it with friends and family members, but I really couldn't bring myself to part with my copy. I know without a doubt, I'll be reading it again...and again.
