A Color Game for Chester Raccoon works as what it is -- a story/game to teach children's colors. It's not anything special, though, and there are longer, much more interesting, and more creative color-teaching picture books out there.

Note: I received a digital copy of this book through NetGalley. ( )

"Chester’s Favorite Game provides an activity that will entertain young children anywhere -- finding things in many colors: White, blue, yellow, red, orange, brown, and black."

As the mother of 5 myself, I can certainly attest to the fact that kids get bored very, very quickly, so rather than just playing I Spy, this book would have provided a very nice distraction with the colorful illustrations and the rhyming text. In fact, I haven't met a Chester Raccoon book yet that I wouldn't want to own!

Highly recommend for all parents and grandparents of little ones:

5/5 stars.

I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )

This book is another in the Chester the Raccoon Series. We first met Chester in The Kissing Hand, but now he iw teaching children various concepts. This book deals with colours. Chester and his friends find various objects of different colours. The story is told in rhyme and has delightful illustrations. A fun way to learn colours with your children.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. ( )

A short, young children’s book that identifies the colors white, blue, yellow, red, orange, brown, and black.

The description that I was given of this book: “In this new Kissing Hand board book, Audrey Penn brings us more maternal wisdom to solve another of early childhood’s little issues. Whether on a trip, in a restaurant or a store, children can become bored and fussy. Chester’s Favorite Game provides an activity that will entertain young children anywhere — finding things in many colors: White, blue, yellow, red, orange, brown, and black.” was misleading. I thought that this book would be more similar to an Eye Spy color-finding game, which it wasn’t. As a story, it was lacking immensely. It wasn’t very entertaining at all, and some of the colors aren’t shown as effectively as they could be. ( )

A Color Game for Chester Raccoon by Audrey Penn
ISBN: 9781933718583
Illustrated very colorful children's book. Not only good for colors but counting games as well.
TYpical day in the life of Chester the Raccoon and what creatures he comes across and their color. Quite the selection of animals, birds and other natural things.
Book at the end suggests you play the color game and first start with white... ( )
