Still going strong. ( ) Wow, absolutely fabulous! Keep 'em coming! Scarlet Benoit is a farm girl, but she wasn't always. She used to live in Paris, now she lives in rieux. One day her grandmother disappears, scarlet knows she didn't run off, but the police don't agree. She will stop at nothing to find her grandma. This book was devoured in one and a half sittings. I tried to make it last, really, I did! It was just too good to stop reading. The imagery was on point, and the writing style as always had wonderful flow. Marissa Meyer is swiftly taking up the 2015 favorite author slot for me. I am REALLY enjoying this series - I really couldn't imagine a retelling of Cinderella and Red Riding Hood could be worth any kind of time - but wow - this story is excellent! Cant wait for the whole series to be complete so I can buy a boxed set! Will definitely read again! second read - because I'm heading toward Winter.... starting the whole series over - awesomeness! We meet Scarlet. Her Grandmother is missing. She meets Wolf. Scarlet is obsessed with finding her Grandmother, sometimes it makes her ignore other things. The narrator sometimes gives Scarlet a French accent. It was jarring because it was so infrequent. If it had been consistent I wouldn't have found it so annoying. We also follow Cinder as she escapes. I really liked Thorne the fellow prisoner who joins her. Sequels are tricky things. It seems that they either surpass the predecessor or fall woefully short. They are either Empire Strikes Back or Grease 2; there’s very little in between. With the second book of the Lunar Chronicles, however, Marissa Meyer may have found that middle ground. While I don’t think this installment quite rises to the level of [b:Cinder|11235712|Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)|Marissa Meyer|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388186881s/11235712.jpg|15545385], it doesn’t fall that far short either.
