For a while I thought they might not be my thing but perhaps I've just been reading the wrong ones. Because I really enjoyed reading Caged Moon! I wasn't sure what to expect from it but from the very first page, I was impressed. I recommend setting aside a few hours if you're planning on reading this because I for one couldn't tear my eyes away! It was definitely addictive and very, very intriguing. Our protagonist in this one is Charlotte and I really liked her from the start. She was just plain cool and I enjoyed getting to know her. I thought she was a really intelligent character who always thought things through logically which is awesome to see. What I loved was that she didn't keep it all to herself. When she was suspecting that weird things were going on, she told her friend and talked every detail over with her. It was really interesting that she didn't keep it all a secret and quite refreshing to see. Liam is the love interest and I definitely liked him! I found myself smirking every time Charlotte was having a conversation with him. There was just something really sweet and amusing about him. He's a really nice guy, a little mysterious but not in an over the top way. He doesn't treat Charlotte like she's dumb and I liked that he was more forthcoming with information than I expected him to be. Charlotte and Liam's interactions were fun to watch. The one thing I wasn't crazy about was the fast progression of their relationship. I felt like they had barely gotten to know each other when declarations of love were being thrown around! I would have liked it to go slower. Other than that, Caged Moon was a brilliant paranormal read. I enjoyed getting to know all about the wolves and I couldn't have predicted the way things went. It gets very intense towards the end of the book and I think the sequel will be wonderful! The concept of this one is good, however there are some similarities to other wolf books or maybe nods to others is this genre such as Shiver and New Moon perhaps. I say this because the female lead was bitten by a wolf as a child and that made me think of Shiver and the wolf boys made me think of those cute Quillette boys in the Twilight series. Charlotte is stubborn and in denial about the evidence right in front of her and then I'm really curious about her friend Ty, she goes from wolf paranoid to something else entirely. Who is she? How did she get to that point? I don't feel there is a sense of time in the plot and I'm still like what just happened. Charlotte meets Liam and he's all "I love you" in the next second, seriously dude, you just sniffed her like two seconds ago. Apparently, there is something about Charlotte that is special and this makes her a wolf magnet. Her uncanny ability to attract them also sparks her interest as she begins to search for the truth and she is quite adamant that she herself is not a werewolf. Liam, seems like a sweet, cute guy but he has some serious stalker tendencies. Overall, this book has me curious about what will happen next and why certain things happened. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Charlotte was an okay main character. I did like that she didn't just blindly accept everything that was thrown her way. Instead, she is the type of character who questions, mulls things over with friends, and then finally makes a decision. In a word, smart. However she kind of walked the line between that and being a bit naive at times. There were points when I just sighed out loud. I understand that this was Charlotte's way of sharing her thoughts with the reader. At times it just got to be too much for me.
Liam was a much more engaging character in my eyes. Charming, sweet, and just a bit mysterious. Although his story wasn't too hard to uncover, I did enjoy the way that Rachel Deagan allowed him his own unique personality. He is a great companion to Charlotte! I would have actually liked to get to know him a little more. I'm hoping that in the second book there will be more of his back story. The insta-love between Charlotte and Liam was the one thing that was a bit off. I chalked it up to their wolfish natures though, and that made it a little more palpable.
All in all I thought that Caged Moon was a pretty great read. It had its issues, but there were some fabulous parts too. Rachel Deagan manages to mix mystery, romance and the paranormal all into this story. While it wasn't a favorite for me, I'm sure that big fans of this genre will fall in love. There is a lot to enjoy. If you are a werewolf lover, give this one a shot. Liam is well worth it!
