As the knowledge economy takes shape, editors face many challenges: technology is transforming publishing, text is losing out to graphics, and writing is distorted by cliché, hype and spin. More than ever, editors are needed to add value to information and to rescue readers from boredom and confusion. An excellent reference source for editors and proofreaders, or those aspiring to it (like myself).

I found it very informative on a large range of subjects. ( )

A fantastic book that should be on the shelf of any editor. This is not a style guide, but rather a run down of what an editor does, what skills an editor requires, and what the life of an editor can be like. This book is especially good for freelancers, as it covers the often overlooked aspects such as lifestyle, costing, looking after yourself (desks, chairs etc.) and filing. If you are an editor, buy this book! ( )
