GREAT book. The only thing I disagreed with was her assessment of EQ O/F Test 16 where she states "there is the problem of fairness in putting riders on horses that may not be trained as well as their own." I think it keeps people with lots of money from being able to buy ribbons.

I have a $2500 Arab that I have done pretty much all the training on but I could never compete against somebody $40,000 imported, professionally trained warmblood. It doesn't mean I'm not a good rider because I have done a lot with the limited means I have. From the point of view of somebody who doesn't have a trailer, an instructor, trainer, endless amounts of time or several thousand dollars to buy another horse or send mine to a trainer I can say adamantly that all it does is even the playing field.

Even with this one disagreement she still did a fabulous job in not only explaining how Hunter shows are judged but the reasoning behind it. ( )
