So damn good. Jane's character is one of the best and most enjoyable to read in literature. She knows what she wants and refuses to bend her standards. Her progression over the course of her book, both internally and in her relationships, is such a satisfying journey. The writing is gorgeous and evokes that lovely Gothic tone to perfection. The only thing that still bothers be about the story is her relationship with Mr. Rochester. He needs to be dependent in order for her to feel equal in the relationship (which admittedly, he was an overbearing jerk completely ignoring her wishes the first time around). I certainly understand why he's preferable to his foil St. John (what a horrid man), in that he provides a meeting of like minds, but the way in which the story tones him down with physical damage has never sat right with me. Overall, though, Jane herself is more than enough to carry me through this book over and over again. ( )

Great writer. GREAT. Why didn't I give it four stars. Sorry. Jane is just annoying. ( )

An excellent adaptation for English language learners. Kept the main plot lines of the story and even some of the original language.

I really enjoyed the stills of the Orson Welles movie of Jane Eyre (1943); I had no idea this version existed and I have to watch it. ( )

As one of my favorite books, I have already read the Chinese one many times. Though this one is much shorter, it keeps the beauty of this story very well. Jane Eyer was a short girl who was neither beautiful nor wealthy. She spent her childhood with her unkind aunt since her parents' death. She became a governess after she graduated from a charity school and loved her master. But this gentleman had already gotten a wife though he had never mention it.But at last like most of this kind of books, the ones who had true love lived together until the death sepreated them.
The story is not difficult to understand but only when you read it, you can feel the power when a unlucky person struggle with the destiny ,which can really touch your heart. ( )

This is a classic story. Jane was living with her uncle when she was child. because her parents died so she was by herself. One day, she sent to the boading house in Lowood. she had a good time at there. After she studied, she spent at there for several years as a teacher. Then, she worked as a tutor. She met a man, Rochester. He asked to marry with him, but he was already marry with Mr. Mason's sister. then Jane ran away.....

I think this story was not really difficult to understand. because the story described compactly. I thought Jane and Mr.Rochester loved and thought each other so much. I thought it is sweet story. ( )
