WHAT BOOK REVIEWERS ARE SAYING
“This book is delicious!”

“This book takes Twilight and others like it to the next level!”

“The dialogue and emotions are real and raw, there are some expletives and sexual fantasy scenes but I felt they worked with the characters and gave them more of an edge to their creation. Oftentimes the author used comedic wit to the scenes giving it an even more humanistic appeal to the characters.”

“I have a feeling that Hayden is going to end up with a lot of fans, and if you're the type of person who tends to fall for the bad boys with hearts of gold, you should probably brace yourself for a new literary crush before picking up Something Witchy This Way Comes!”

“From teen to adult, I can't imagine anyone not absolutely adoring this book.”

SOMETHING WITCHY THIS WAY COMES
Brainiac Tessa McClean’s newly discovered magical powers give her an escape from her self-absorbed parents. But the thrill of being a witch fades when she learns of a rival coven and begins to suspect her own coven’s motives. Evidence tells Tessa to trust one side, but instinct drives her toward the other.

When the school’s scrumptious delinquent, Hayden Anders, offers Tessa self-defense lessons in exchange for tutoring, his timing couldn’t be better. Although hanging out with him is a necessary evil in Tessa’s fight to stay alive, resisting a bad-boy she secretly yearns for might be more than she can manage.

Together, Tessa and Hayden work to unravel the mysteries behind the two covens to discover why they’ll stop at nothing to lure Tessa to their side. She must form an alliance with one of the covens before it’s too late. But the wrong decision could cost Tessa the lives of all who she holds dear — including Hayden.

MORE RAVE REVIEWS
“What I loved about this book was that it dove straight into my emotions. When she and Hayden had a steamy scene, I felt it too. When she was getting into trouble, I was biting my nails. When she discovered truths, I gasped and even cried. It was a great emotional roller coaster...”

“The author creates a ton of tension and suspense even though as the reader, we know what each character is thinking and feeling. It takes a very creative person to accomplish something like that.”

“Action packed, and fast paced… Overall, a great read with intriguing characters.”

“Something Witchy This Way Comes is full of paranormal twists and turns, self-discoveries, courage, loyalty, trust and surprises. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every aspect of this book. Veronica Blade has an incredible talent for story telling and bringing characters to life vividly, to really allow the reader to invest themselves within both Tessa and Hayden, as well as the secondary characters.”

“This is a must read for all lovers of Paranormal books! Veronica Blade you have out done yourself!”

“Veronica Blade has an easy style that swiftly carries the reader from start to finish and lovers of romance will greatly appreciate the will-they-won't-they tension between her two main characters.”

“With her breezy irreverence, remarkable self-assurance, and beguiling innocence, Tessa’s voice is the one I enjoyed the most. Personally, I would have liked the entire tale to have been told from her perspective exclusively. However, Hayden’s voice grew on me after a bit, and I soon relished seeing situations through his eyes, as well.”

3.5 stars. Maybe the full 4. I enjoyed this book, even though I'm not it's target audience. Solid characters you can get behind and an interesting plot. I thought perhaps it was the first in a new series, but it seems it's probably just a stand alone - and that's ok as the author wraps everything up rather nicely by the end. A fun way to blow through a rainy afternoon. ( )

Very seldom is a book so good that I wouldn’t mind if it was somehow made into a series. Characters I like so much that I would love to explore their world some more.

Something Witchy This Way Comes was exactly that! I’d love to have more time with Tessa and Hayden. Discovering more about the covens and their powers would be awesome.

This book had three of my favorite things:
One, it had a paring of two people with very different personalities. (Good girl, bad boy.)
Two, it had alternating POV’s! (I love getting inside peoples heads.)
Three, the supernatural witch stuff. (My favorite).

And that’s what I loved the most. I’m really interested in paranormal/supernatural stuff, so this book was right up my alley. All the practicing and fighting and action was elating to read about. Especially between Hayden and Chait! ;)

Putting Hayden and Tessa together was so sweet! I love how he slowly changes. Though Tessa pissed me off with her back and forth emotions!

Great story. Great characters. (Tessa’s grandma!!) Great twists. ( )

When I heard the title of this book, I just knew I had to read it! Then I saw the cover and read the description, and I was even more excited! Sometimes that's a bad thing, though - to go into a book with really high expectations can lead to a really big letdown if the book doesn't meet those expectations. I am very happy to report that that was not the case here - I really enjoyed it!

Tessa and Hayden go to high school together, but they hang out in totally separate groups. Tessa is the quiet but pretty brainiac, who is always smiling, and Hayden is the extremely good-looking troublemaker, who has a rep for loving and leaving the ladies. Imagine their surprise when one day when they show up for school they are both called into the principal's office. Apparently, Tessa is being stalked and perhaps threatened by a mysterious group, and the principal wants Hayden to be her bodyguard. In exchange, he will write Hayden a letter of recommendation for college and will expunge some of the worst offenses from his school file. Hayden's not too excited about it, but he finally agrees. The principal then has a private meeting with Tessa where he tells her that she is a witch, and a rival faction wants her to join their group, and chances are they will kill her if she doesn't agree. This sets off a chain of events where no one is who they seem to be, and it's up to Tessa and Hayden to figure out the mystery of who's who before her 18th birthday in about a month, when she will be expected to choose. Not only does she find out that she is a witch, but she's a very special witch with special gifts, and people will kill to have her on her side.

The mystery is a great part of the book, but an even better part is the relationship that develops between Tessa and Hayden. They are definitely attracted to one another, but Tessa was hurt by a boy earlier that year and Hayden suffers from major self-esteem issues, so they both fight their attraction. I will admit that I often just wanted to smack them both upside the head, but then I had to remind myself that I was a teen once, too!

This book is full of action and suspense and romance, and all the good things a book should be full of! There were lots of twists and turns, which made it a "can't put down" book for me!

I do have to caution parents that the book does deal with sexual situations, so you might want to leave this book to the older teens:)

I am really impressed with this first book of Veronica's and will definitely read any further books she writes! I'm waiting (kind of) patiently for A Bite's Tale (A Furry Fable), which I really hope will be released soon, because it sounds like it's going to be another good one!! ( )

Tess is in a quandary. She comes to school on a normal day, gets called into the Principals office, she's told that she is in danger and then is assigned the schools bad/playboy to be her bodyguard.

She soon finds out that she is part of a small group of witches/sorcerers. She is being taught how to use her magic from her principal and a lady who poses as an FBI agent. As time progresses, she learns that there is a wizarding war happening. Two factions are trying to recruit and gain control. Each claims that the other is bad and they are really the good guys. It is very confusing and hard to figure out who to trust.

Then there is the bodyguard. Hayden is a bad boy through and through. He comes from a wealthy family, but we soon see that all is not peachy in his world. He is a fabulous fighter and agrees to teach Tess self-defense. She in exchanges agrees to tutor him. It doesn't take long for them to figure out that opposites attract.

The story alternates between Tess and Hayden narrating. We get to know both and their thoughts.

This is an amusing story. It is fast paced and pulls you in from the beginning. My only warning is that there is underage drinking and sexual situations without a ton of details. ( )
