An enjoyable and funny book! I think this would appeal mostly to young teens, but it can still be fun for an older reader. Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I actually really enjoyed this book, it was a pleasant surprise. It's very funny and one of those reads you don't mind passing around for others to read. Nathan and Misty, friends since forever, run away together only to realize that they probably aren't going to make it on their own. They head back home in order to face the wrath of their parents and find that the entire town has been zombiefied. The military has blown up the bridges going into town and is going to vaporize everything with firebombs unless all the zombies are dead. Nathan and Misty rescue a super smart 9 year old named Kali and between the three of them, they set out to destroy the zombies thereby saving themselves. Told from Nathan's point of view, readers get a sense of his emotions and internal dialogue as he interacts with Misty and Kali. This book is aimed at middle school aged children. Zombies have been popular for awhile now and this book continues that trend but in a less scary and funnier way. Tweens and teens who think zombies are interesting or who are interested in science will enjoy this book. Highly Recommended. Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I Love this book, it's perfect for kids and adults and has all the humor that I need after a long day of work. I loved the images and of courses the zombies... I really recommend this book
How do i read this lol?
When life gives you lemons, kill zombies - turns out lemon juice neutralizes the undead. After a failed attempt at running away, best friends Nathan and Misty return home expecting to face angry parents. Instead, they discover the military has destroyed the bridges out of their rural town and everyone's fled-except a small horde of the living dead. The stress of flesh-eating zombies may be more than their already strained relationship can handle.Even with the help of the town geek and lemonade-powered Super-Soakers, there's not enough time to squeeze their way out of this sticky mess. Unless the trio eradicates the zombie infestation, while avoiding the deadly zombie snot, the military will blow the town, and them, to pulp.Their only shot is something with a lot more punch. Something like the Super Zombie Juice Mega Bomb. But even if their friendship survives, there's another problem: Someone has to lure the undead into the trap. This book is a fun read! Cute story....reminds me a lot of the Goosebumps books my sons always liked to read when they were in elementary school.
Also included are two creepy short stories: Hobgoblin Horror and Bloody Marcy. I read Hobgoblin Horror in MJA Ware's other book, No Way Out. It's a great story told to two kids who visit an elderly vet in a nursing home. Bloody Marcy is a very short, but totally eerie story about a game of Bloody Mary gone wrong. There is also a preview of another book, Zack and Zoey's Alien Apocalypse.
The cover art for this book is awesome! I wanted to read it right away when I saw a girl shooting a zombie with a super soaker. What's not to love? :) Who needs a crossbow or a baseball bat when you can have a super soaker filled with lethal zombie juice? :)
