I always read a book to the end. I didn't read this one out. In the first 30 pages the "hero"has already threatened several times to rape the woman who he captured. I don't care that this has to do with a curse he claims she put upon him. There is no excuse for threatening with rape. This book belongs in the trash. ( )

Another day, another sexually-objectified highlander novel.

I think this one is my favourite so far, out of the series? I like Lachlan a lot, and I... I want to like the main female character, Catherine but I have mixed feelings. The book didn't go where I thought it was going to go, but it was still good?

And I'm almost glad it didn't go where it was going to go because it would've ruined one of my favourite side characters in the series?

I will also say that I liked that Catherine wasn't just a precious virgin quivering under her massive companion this time. The virgin very sexually experienced male partner power balance is one of the most irritating things I find in romance novels, so it's refreshing to see that power balance adjusted so it's a little more realistic.

I might just say fuck it and read all 5 books, hey? Not that anyone's really interested (apologies to everyone who follows me for my reviews of actual literature, I do not have the brain power) but I promise there will be many a snarky status to come. ( )
