So much in keeping with the old Curious George stories that it is not very creative ( )

- Short Summary of the Main Plot: The story begins with curious George and the man with the yellow hat on a hot summer day, and George hears the ice cream truck. Unfortunately, they miss the truck, and it did not come back the next day. The next day, to cool off they try to go to the pool, but it is closed. George tries to find other ways to cool off like running in the sprinklers, but they stop as soon as he gets there. Nothing seems to be going right for George, but then he hears the ice cream truck once more. The man with the yellow hat runs to get his wallet but is not fast enough, and the truck drives right past George. George gets the idea to jump onto the truck’s roof, and he rides it to his next stop. There was a long line of people, and the ice-cream truck man ran out of change for the orders, so he runs to the bank to get more change. In the meantime, George decides to help by passing out ice-cream to the customers but forgets to collect the money. The ice-cream truck man gets upset, but then the mayor offers to pay for everyone’s ice-cream; the mayor applauds George for his help and says she wants to start an ice-cream party every year for the town. In the end, George finally gets some ice-cream and cools off.

- My response: I thought this was a short, cute story that teaches about being helpful. I would like to get it for my future classroom; I loved curious George as a kid so I hope my future students will enjoy it too.
