I really enjoyed this book... I like the philosophy espoused by the main character also. A David and Goliath for the far future, with characters motives well laid out, and showing the advantages of careful planning. Of course in real life, no matter how well you plan, something always goes south... but this is fiction after. Love the choice of weapons, and the effects they cause... and the whole sort of peaceful, non-violent (at least no deaths) protest concept. I look forward to the remaining books in the series... hopefully they will flesh out the world-building a bit more, and show more of the wonderful characters Perry created.

(and for those complaining this is not realistic? It is called Science FICTION for a reason, and authors do have artistic license!) :) ( )

Interesting idea, I believe it stands the test of time. Futuristic philosophical guerrilla warfare. The whole series in general is good, I liked the first one the best. ( )

I think this was the strongest book in the series, which seems to be unusual for a first book.

I enjoyed the world of Emile Khadaji and this book can easily be read as a stand alone even if you never read any of the others.

I found the mix of religion, philosophy and martial arts interesting and I liked the message of how one person can make a huge difference if they are willing to put the effort into it. ( )

Fun stuff. Tasty sci-fi martial art, bartending, one man rebellion goodness. ( )
