Parts of it really dragged but the rest of it was quite compelling. Michael "Doe" spent much of his life waiting for his father to come back and pick him up from the foster home. But he did make a great life for himself as an award winning builder of green homes. He has a wonderful wife and an adored daughter. And then one day it all fell apart. ( ) You're next Gregg Hurwitz One of the most significant problems in my life is my memories. I always tend to repress them. Unlike other people who can't do the same as i do, it works for me. I sleep quite well at night, even though there are certain things from the past that are supposed to bother me. In his book "you're next," Gregg Hurwitz pushed me to this point. "His mother always said that a fruit fly in the house is a sign of something bad lurking in the family - that was one of his only memories of her." Michael Doe, like "John Doe" was abandoned at the age 4 in the playground. Michael well remembered the memory of abandonment, and his father had promised him that he would come and take him away. Michael had a hard childhood and grew up in a foster home, the only friend he has is Shep, who becomes the only friend he trusts. For Shep, Michael is his single family. Michael lives the life he dreamed of - he has a wife named Anabel and an 8-year-old daughter named Kat whom he loves very much, and his construction company promises a safe and quiet future. When Michael finds out what one of the contractors did, he is sure that someone is spying on him and that it is related to what the contractor did in his project. His project - building a green residential neighborhood is about to receive a prize for outstanding community leadership. His picture taken in a newspaper and from there, there is no turning back. People follow him and say, "You're next in line," while he doesn't understand why, and wonders if it has to do with the contractor who tricked him. Once he attacked by one of the people and wants to file a complaint, he is surprised that the police do nothing about him being a victim and wants to know more about his past. Shep, his old friend, and a private investigator named Hank are the only ones who come to his aid. The book alternately has a chapter on the past, present, past. The book is single. An excellent thrill book. Anyone who is looking for a thriller that can not be left out, this is the one! I enjoyed reading. If you think you know why they're chasing him, wait until you find a solution. There are many twists in the plot, and the writer solves them pretty well. So if you're like me and you sleep too well at night, maybe you should try to remember your past, or you could just read this book. Who knows, perhaps someday this will happen to you too. Strongly recommends. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
