Leek Lanzia, who many believe is the Liberator mentioned in the Prophecy, is given command of the remnants of the mutant army after its decimation by the TGA's seemingly invincible hovertanks. He must reorganize and rebuild his forces if there is going to be any chance of stopping the TGA from marching all the way to Rigomol and overrunning the capital city. After losing a bid to becoming chancellor, Lorin aligns herself with Leek to preserve the organization she and her father have so painstakingly built, and to save the Nanomites from Videl Lai's ordered genocide. While rebuilding the Loyalist's 3rd Army, Leek proves himself a capable leader and quickly gains the support and admiration of his soldiers and the people of Tarizon. But as the war drags on Leek yearns to rescue his mate, Luci, held captive by Videl Lai in the capital city of Shisk.… (plus d'informations)

Tarizon: Civil War by William Manchee
This one picks up where the last left off but if you've not read them it will bring you up to date.
Lots of politics, strategic maneuvers and how to fight using what they can get their hands on.
Heartache from lies and remote areas we learn about. Lots of equipment to fight the war is described in detail along with the strategy.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Lots of action and adventure for the travelers and explosive encounters.
Very interesting as this one involves DC and surrounding areas.
Finishes off with listing of works from the author.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion. ( )

If you are looking for sheer Sci-Fi… Then this is the book for you! This was an amazing read. This Sci-fi had combat conflict, conflict, encounters… action and more action with a bit of romance… being apart, wanting to rescue her, longing and staying strong.. Friendships and comradeship and of course those other characters that would like to do away with him… From page to page, it was rather hard to lay it down and go back to real living.
This book could be read alone as a complete story but is much better when you read all of them and combined the information and gain the whole story. The characters were all a bit intricate and complex which added a rich realness to them. ( )

This book was a pleasant surprise in many ways. I had read another book by this author which was somewhat of a disaster so I didn't expect much from this one. I'm happy to say it was a much better book.

This book is pure sci-fi as opposed to some others by this author which are a combination of legal thriller and sci-fi. The pure sci-fi nature of this book made it much easier to read. The plot revolves around a young man, taken from earth to Tarizon, and his role as the Liberator in a bloody civil war. The main thrust of the book is the battles and the tactics it takes to win the war. There are a number of different species involved and a lot of cool futuristic weapons. If you look military strategy, you will enjoy this. If you don't, this may not be the book for you.

While the editing and continuity are better in this book than the other I had read, the writing still has some problems. The dialogue does not always come off as realistically as it should. The plot seems to advance a little too easily for the rebels and the writing just doesn't have as much impact as it should at times. I believe the writer has great imagination and interesting plot lines but not yet the writing skills to match.

I received this book from the Goodreads giveaway program and I appreciated the opportunity to read and review it.

Civil war has broken out on Tarizon between the Purists and the Loyalists. Each side fights for dominance of various cities, islands, and continents. Political and romantic intrigues are also interspersed throughout.

This can be read as a stand alone tale, but the first book does help with character development and plot background.

The narrative is complex and highly detailed with flawed and complicated characters present. Scenery and activities are also detailed giving a unique flair to the atmosphere of this reality.

Overall, an intriguing read. ( )
