The poems in this book are abstract and colorful, poems that make you think, poems that surprise you. That's what I love about this book. I liked Amber Tamblyn as an actress, and now I totally love her as a writer. ( ) I love Amber Tamblyn. I first became a fan of hers from the show Joan of Arcadia, and then she went on to do movies such as Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Amber is an amazing actress so I knew I had to get this book of poems she wrote. She did not disappoint! I never used to like poems because I never could understand what they author was trying to say. But as I got older I realized maybe thats a good thing. This way you can have your own interpretation. Amber is such a great writer. Her style of writing poems is nothing like I have seen before. While some you may read and not know why she wrote it, but you can walk away think how you interpreted it. If you love poems, get this book. If you didn't, like me before, still get this. You will see a different side of Amber. Actress Amber Tamblyn is known for her roles on General Hospital and Joan of Arcadia but many don’t realize what a talented writer she is. Her debut poetry book is an amazing read for a 21 year old. The book incorporates not only recent creations but other poems that were published in her younger years, that have won awards or are high notarized. Poetry is a great form of expression through adolescence and I loved reliving the same feelings and experiences, confusion and laughter that comes out of her writing. Quick and easy read. Her second work, Bang Ditto, was just released as well. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
My words ripple: Stand there, wait for the train. Amber Tamblyn, best known as an actress, is also an accomplished poet who was mentored by Beat poets such as Jack Hirschman and Michael McClure. Incisive and passionate, her poems represent Amber's unique perspective on universal issues of relationships, loss, and self-discovery. This collection provides a glimpse into the mind of a young woman struggling to define her own identity on her own terms. Jack Hirschman provides an introduction that places the poems in a literary context, and Amber prefaces her writing with a personal explanation that gives readers an entry point into her work. This striking collection marks the arrival of an original voice in the realm of young adult literature. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
