The rah-rah-you-go-boy tone is too familiar and some of the advice ("Dress appropriately for the work environment") is a no-brainer, but the advice on how to leverage the 21st century internet tools to boost your profile and presence in your field is very useful (and it works; I had six new Twitter followers in 24 hours after taking some of the steps Schawbel recommends).
