Thousands of people were displaced and living across the United States. The 2005-2006 football season was a year to forget for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. Their fans were homeless, their city was in ruins, and their home, the Superdome, was no longer a football stadium but a homeless shelter with holes all around the stadium. Fast forward to 2009, the New Orleans Saints are world champions of the NFL. Read about the four year journey the team and city took from worst to first through the eyes of Sean Payton, the head coach of the Saints. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was in high school at the time of Hurricane Katrina and truly didn’t understand the magnitude of Katrina and the devastation the hurricane inflicted on New Orleans and the surrounding area. Reading personal stories from residents of New Orleans and the effects the storm had on them was very emotional. Reading about how the football team restored the city’s pride was a very good read. This would be a good read for students to learn about adversity and overcoming it. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
