A comic that's a really dark private-eye story set in San Francisco and that pushes back against the straight macho sexuality of Mickey Spillane... would be a good idea. This isn't the way to do it. This is just clunky, ineptly lurid and embarrassing. (

Vertigo Crime’s August 2010 release, Fogtown, is the pork rind of pulp fiction.

This book was very good, one of the best of the Vertigo Crime line to date. The art was fantastic and the writing was tight. There were many twists and turns, and they all fell perfectly into place, save for one. It's a bit of a doozy, but it didn't detract from an otherwise superb read. (
