I find this pure unadulterated joy. I bought this while at high school and dipping in to read one or two (or more) entries always bring a smile to my face. ( )

"The book of heroic failures" is, quite simply, one of the funniest books I have ever read. If you're like me and enjoy reading about the complete bugger-ups of other people (and I think you are) you'll piss yourself laughing throughout "The Book of Heroic Failures".

I've always been a fan of spectacular failures so I really enjoyed the many spectacular tales of failures and flops. Who could forget the infamous 1912 Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race where neither boat was able to finish (and one rower wandered off at a critical moment to chat to his old chum Boswell)? Or the amateur soccer team from England that accidentally found itself playing against a professional German team (the German fans ended up cheering the English team whenever they went near the ball)?

Over two hundred pages of heroic failures, and almost everyone a gem. ( )

A book of funny stories about failure in all aspects of human activity. The stories are funny, but not something I would only read once. ( )

This is a collection of low points in a number of industrious people's lives. Not for reading when one is depressed, but maybe not when one is feeling good, either. A classic of Schaudenfreud. ( )

There was many people's story in this book, but they are not success stories. They are failure story. For example, drivers who cannot drive, travellers who get lost all the time, and policemen who cannot catch criminals.Suprisingly, those are all true story.

This book is full of funny stories about people who do things wrong.Because there are many funny stories in this book,I felt so interesting.Failure makes us sad,but Failure give us a new chance. We should never give up. ( )

After many re-reads I still find this book hilarious. It's difficult to pick out one or two examples from so many, but let me have a go-
The Worst Bus Service-Can any bus service rival the Hanley to Bagnall route in Staffordshire. In 1976 it was reported that the buses no longer stopped for passengers.Councillor Chalerton stated that if these buses stopped to pick up people it would disrupt the time-tables.
The Least Successful Exhibition-The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents held an exhibition at Harrogate. The entire display fell down,
I must admit that it is rather difficult for a book to get me to laugh at all,let alone to laugh out loud. This one does just that. Worth its weight in gold. ( )
