This is a fascinating story of what happens when the Gospel seed falls on fertile ground. It describes how Bishop Samuel Ruiz is building a church that is building life and ending the exploitation of native peoples.

1496 The Inner Elite: Dossiers of Papal Candidates, by Gary MacEoin and the Committee for the Responsible Election of the Pope (read 25 Aug 1978) I thought this a stupid book, but it does gather together a little information on each cardinal under 80. The conclave began today. I predict Albino Luciano, Patriarch of Venice, will be elected and choose to be called Paul VII. If he is not elected, Sebastiano Baggio will be elected and will choose to be called Leo XIV. I believe I'd vote for Cardinal Willebrands. I think the unbroken line of Italians should come to an end.
