So bad that at first I thought this must surely be a joke. Rarely have I ever felt so dumb for having wasted my money on a book. McKinney's Carcosa is a work of genius. This is insulting to the reader. Raggi ought to be ashamed of himself for publishing this. Even the art is cartoonish. Consists of an island hexcrawl. No description of the island as a whole -- i.e., no history, backstory, overarching concept, theme, etc. Nothing whatsoever. Each hex has a single thing in it, consisting of either (and I mean this literally, these are the only things in any of the hexes): a statue that has some magical property (PCs will quickly learn to avoid these); a hermit wizard (no personality, motives, anything described other than physical appearance); a solitary cleric (what god do they serve? what is their personality like? what are they doing? no idea); or an animal that is a mish-mash of two or more other types of animals (e.g., a giant parakeet-raccoon). That's it. That's all this book is.

Do not buy this. Ever.
