I loved the touching story of the little boy who was super worried about his dog while she stayed overnight at the vet to get spayed. Super sweet and almost tear jerking, since all I ever really think about is my 15 year old dog. The story sends such a good message about being brave and worrying about your pet. ( ) Aggie is Ben's dog. She has to go to the vet and get spayed. Ben tells Aggie all about how he is brave at the doctor and how it will be okay. What Ben does not realize is that Aggie will have to stay over night and when she gets back she will have to take time to recover. This is hard for Ben because he has never been away from her and he does not understand at first her recovery. When Aggie is recovering she has to wear a cone and can not do all the fun things that they normally do together. I think this book is really good for kids because a lot of them have pets they are close to and many of them will have to have this same procedure. I think it also teaches them about being caring and patient when someone is sick or in recovery from a surgery or illness. Aggie and Ben are great stories for sharing with young children before they read, and exceptional for new readers polishing their skills. This story, in particular, will resonate with any family who has a pet going to the vet for surgery and/or overnight. Ben is an "all kids" character who is brave (but then not), happy (but then sad), and always compassionate. Although Ben is worried about his dog Aggie when the veterinarian spays her and while she recovers, he laughs at her problems with the cone she must wear on her head until her stitches are removed. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
