What a great book to introduce girls to a kick butt teen female super hero. Even with an astronomical amount of back story (the counterworld stuff) missing it was still really interesting. I had never heard of the female Bucky so it was a whole new character. I liked her interaction with Black Widow and how she knew something was wrong at the school. I was a happy girl. ( ) Rikki Barnes is a sidekick to a Captain America of another world, yet somehow she has appeared in ours. She immerses herself in a high-school setting as she gets her bearings, but it turns out that the school is the home base for yet another secret plot to take over the world by the bad guys. In this limited four-issue series collected here as a trade paperback, Barnes is given the Nomad outfit and name and for three-quarters of the story, she generally bumbles through the discovered plot. There are several cameos (Black Widow, Captain America, Falcon, and the Young Avengers) but they mostly provide ancillary help. There's a decent beginning and middle, but the end wraps up a little too tidy. What a great book to introduce girls to a kick butt teen female super hero. In her world, Rikki Barnes was the modern-day Bucky, teen sidekick to Captain America. In this world, the Cap she knew is dead, she never existed, and very little else is as she remembers. With no home, no income, and no legal identity, what's a girl to do? How about tracking down the new Cap, reconnecting with her brother, and running afoul of the Secret Empire? Sounds like a plan to us! Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
