My work, from working with families, and my personal experience from raising five children, has given me a big-picture view of the pain parents feel while taking care of their ill child, and the courage these parents put forth while feeling helpless and hopeless from not knowing what to do or how to best assist their child. I share my passion for gift and understanding with these parents. It is my hope that parents, after reading this book with their child, (ren) or alone, can have renewed sense of purpose and energy. It is character-driven, depend on good characters when facing challenging situations. Focus on the matters of the heart. In today's society where there are less tolerance and much hatred, there is need to celebrate our differences, especially when it has to do with behaviours, illness, and deformation that we have no control over. Collectively, the community can help the individuals and their families in their struggles just to get to their normal.
