I thought that I was just annoyed with the reader on this book, but after awhile, I realized that the dialogue in this book came across as stilted and contrived. And why do we have yet ANOTHER female who bumbles her way into an investigation and trouble and refuses to tell the men in her life what's going on?!? As much as I love reading books in a series, I think I'll skip any more in this one ( )
Still like Abby, who got herself into a bit of a bind...think Mob Boss. Then there's the serial killer, and Dutch is busy on his own case, with a new partner. Made for some fun, hurt feelings, a few scary moments...oh yeah, almost forgot about the fire. ( )
Ticked exactly one box for me ~ the psychic or clairvoyant woman and involvement in an ongoing police procedural. The writing was dreadfully amateurish and to be honest the main character was exceedingly immature. Much as I like mysteries centred around tarot card reading and clairvoyance, this story sidelined those aspects except as a paranormal device to advance the plot.
Generous at two stars. However, if you enjoy a crime-driven, mob-murder mystery and an 'off and on again' roller-coaster romance, this novel is a breeze. ( )
I bought this book for 50 cents at a library discarded book Sale and it turned out to be way better than I thought it was going to be. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I didnt. Something unexpected was always happening. I would probably read it again. ( )
