I liked this boom overall. A simple Christian based story of starting again. An easy read with no unnecessary surprises I think there are a few plot points that could be better developed but all in all the book is what it says. ( )

Nice story about civil war widows who went west supposedly to find husbands, but mostly focused on 4 of them who bought 2 squares of land and built on it for all four of them. ( )

I was really excited to read this book ..
I guess I should have read the synopsis first because it was nothing like I expected.
What bothered me is the scorned ladies were sent to Nebraska to be brides.. (I guess it was in the title).
I was expecting all 16 to run like hell but, noooo some of them fell into traps and were the mail order paid brides that they were. You can call it nothing else. Just wasn't for me.. I could not connect with any of the characters and had to push myself to finish this book! ( )
