The author is an expert on automotive history, and it shows; there's rather more on the interplay between automobile companies and the personalities in those firms than on the banking situation itself. The treatment of what went wrong with the banks is fairly superficial, and not terribly satisfying. The book is also riddled with editorial glitches, and jumps back and forth in time, rather than providing a good, linear account. Alas, I cannot recommend the book.
