The second volume of The Incal is not so different than the first, although the overarching plot does begin to finally come into focus, and the ambitious scope of the work becomes clearer. And if Jodorowsky's story is muddled at times, it creates plenty of opportunities for Moebius to flex his most imaginative muscles, and the visuals are spectacular at times. It's hard for the reader not to get pulled into this fantastic universe, and if the sum of the parts is still a bit disappointing overall, the journey is still a treat. Jodorowsky and Moebius' epic space opera continues in this second of three volumes which contains part 3, "That Which Is Below", and part 4, "That Which Is Above". In part 3, John Difool and his party flee through the hidden world beneath the great pit city, pursued by the disgraced galactic President whose mind now inhabits the body of a killer robot. In part 4, they attempt to expose and stop the grand conspiracy. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Want a little Hard-SF god-action with great art and a weird story that goes off the deep end? The Incal is all yours. :)
In some ways, this goes beyond the strangest bits of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, skips over all dull bits and lets us have a battle royale for the sake of impregnating an alien queen, sets up the destruction of all the high-tech cities to get back to nature, and throws a s***-load of jellyfish at the stars.
Weird? Hell, yes. Worth it? Even just KNOWING it exists? Hell, yes.
My only complaint is the speed. Reasons are lost in the haze of "Oh, hell, let's just do THIS, now." :)
Even so? Worth it. ( )
