Chicken Little is about a little chicken who thinks the sky is falling. On his way to tell the king, he tells 4 other animals so they join him. When they get there, the king informs him that it was just an acorn that had fallen on his tail. This story is cute and I understand it is a very old folktale. To me, it resembles The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The chicken went sharing information without having all of the details. I think this book is a good one to share with kids when explaining rumors to them and how it is not good to share them. Kids should know to have all of the facts before they tell others because they could have people worried for no reason. This rule goes in the classroom very well as kids love to tell the teacher on each other. A story that teaches a lesson is always good for children. I think it really puts the lesson on their level for them to get and understand through animated pictures and funny stories. ( )

This story was about a chicken named Chicken Little, while she was in the woods an acorn fell and hit her on her tail. She thought the sky was falling, so she decided she needed to go tell the king. While running to the king, she ran into Henry Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, and Goosey Loosey, and she told them what was going on and they wanted to go with her to the king. When they got to the king, they told him what happened. He thought that this was crazy, so he looked in Chicken Little’s feathers and found an acorn. This book teaches kids to not always believe what people tell you. You should always look for facts and evidence to support what the other person is saying, before believing them. ( )

This particular version of Chicken Little is definitely geared towards younger readers. It doesn't have very much plot. The tone is much brighter and light hearted compared to other common known versions of the story. The author used very short sentences with plenty of repetitive and rhyming words. The entire story is character driven, having Chicken Little think the sky is falling and convincing everyone else of the same, only to find out he got hit by an acorn on the tail. Aside from Chicken Littles perspective, everything else is he said, she said. No one gets hurt snd everything seems to go back to normal at the end of the story. ( )

This version of the book is based off the movie Chicken Little. In the beginning of the book, Chicken little is walking in woods, an acorn fell on her head. She said, " the sky is falling and I must tell the king!" When chicken little is on the way to tell the king, she runs into everybody. For example she runs into Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey, and they all want to go with Chicken Little to tell the king. When they get to the castle, they tell the King that the sky is falling. They said that this one told me and i told them. The king laughed and pulled out an acorn from his pocket and said, " the sky isn't falling, its just an acorn." and they all started laughing. Children can believe anything that they hear and they want to make sure that they get to tell somebody if the think its important. I feel like these characters in the book were playing the game telephone. I think 1st graders would be interested in reading this book. ( )
