Although this book is a sequel to The Ghost Comes Calling, do not expect the same kind of story. There is a mystery that gets solved. No, I didn't see the solution coming, nor did I suspect the biggest secret. Jeannie is still bossy and opinionated. Chad is still stuck with a father who isn't responsible enough for parenthood. Good thing Great-Aunt Elsa is still around to take care of the Weldon family. It's almost the end of summer and Chad is taking care of elderly Miss Beane's dog, Benson, while the nice lady from Sunday School is in the hospital for a broken ankle. Benson is luckier than Miss Beane's parrot, Baby. Baby is staying with a neighbor who doesn't know how she likes to be treated. Chad figures out what Benson needs to keep him from moping. So, what caused the sound that led to Miss Beane's fall? Is it a burglar? If so, who? Is it Cap, whose treehouse allows him to watch the Beane house without being seen? Is it that good-looking nephew staying with a neighbor? Does Chad's father really have extra play rehearsals to attend or is he up to something? If you're expecting Chad to get stuck with the worst of the investigating, as well as some embarrasing situations, your expectations will be fulfilled. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
