"Can we understand genocide?" - asks Paul Levine, - "because understanding is the foundation of prevention. If we ever going to stop a genocide, we have to understand it... The Holocaust is ubiquitous in European life today. There is no understanding Europe without to understand Holocaust. Speaking about Holocaust as one genocide, Yehuda Bauer called it a paradigmatic genocide." - says professor Paul Levine in his lectures. The book "Tell Ye Your Children", written for children, is telling stories about children and is addressed primarily to adults. The Israeli historian Yehuda Bauer called it "the best book written under 100 pages on Holocaust". The title of this book is based on a quotation from the Bible, Book of Joel 1:2-3: “Hear this, ye old man, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.” The book "Tell Ye Your Children" describes what human beings are capable of doing to other human beings when democratic values have been destroyed and replaced by an ideology advocating intolerance, hate and violence. This book presents facts about the Holocaust and attempts to explain how the unimaginable became reality. It is re-printed over 20 years and exists in 18 languages. „Tell Ye Your Children" is written by Stéphane Bruchfeld and Paul A. Levine.
