Quintus, a Roman physician, searches for Jesus, but learns he has been crucified. He meets Veronica of the Veil and Joseph of Arimathea, and Pontius Pilate. They travel to Rome, then Gaul, and end up in Druidic England. ( ) My father's mother owned very few books, but she had this one. I think I read it for the first time when I was about 12 years old. Because of that, it's probably impossible for me to be objective. Each summer that we lived with my grandparents I read the book again, until my grandmother gave the book to me when I was in high school. And that's the copy I still have. This is one of the novels, popular in the 50s, with a Biblical theme, in this case of St. Veronica. In this tale, she is the niece of Joseph of Armathea. She meets and marries a Roman physician and ends up in the company of Pilate and his wife. Eventually, their adventures lead them to Britain and the druids (which was the part of the story I always looked forward to the most when I was a boy). Is it a great book? Not really. But it's a good read and a fine example of its type. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
