This is so cute.  Henkes has such a genius for incisively capturing the moments of childhood.  What would you do if you had one melty treat and didn't want your plush companion to get cheated out of her share?  Btw, Wemberly is female.  Henkes likes giving characters interesting names, too. ( )

This title had a simple storyline, but it was a bit unclear as to why Wemberly was waiting for her ice-cream start to melt. This book was intended for an older toddler, but I feel that the story wasn't very captivating, nor interesting. It has limited appeal.

Should this title be a picture book instead of a board book?
Do the illustrations add to the text?
How effective is the text in encouraging vocabulary growth? ( )
