Genvieve, became a lounge singer. Gollum and Tess hooked up. Scrap gets to spend time with Gingko but is also held accountable for his past with some Guardians and looses his warts. Found out about Tess' background and some long distant demon blood. Gollum also reveals he has a wife. Tess' life isn't easy as a Warrior of the Celestial Blade. Look forward to reading more! ( ) I don't like it. It has a lot of things I like and find interesting - cons, filks, writers, demonslaying - and a lot I don't - lies and secrets, way too much sex=romance, confusions of motive. Overall it doesn't work for me, especially the ending. She has a Destiny...bah! Stupid too many ways. The standard urban fantasy trope of 'every male is attracted to the female hero', too, is over- and awkwardly used. And ridiculous coincidences - Mickey, for one. She just _happened_ to take his cab? Yeah, right. Authorial fiat because she couldn't have done it without his help. If I run across the first book in the series, I'll probably read it - and _maybe_ the one after this. But I won't be seeking them out. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
A brand-new Tess Noncoir novel from "an innovative and welcome new voice in urban fantasy"(#1 New York Timesbestselling author Patricia Briggs) Tess Noncoir , successful fantasy writer and Celestial Blade Warrior, has gone to a writers' conference in Las Vegas, taking along her mother, who is depressed over the death of her demon husband. Taking in one of Vegas' Big Acts, Tess is amazed to see winged dancers flying about the stage, seemingly unsupported by any wires. Then she discovers the dancers are actually faeries, held captive in the casino against their will. And if Tess and her sidekick demon Scrap don't help the faeries return to their own dimension, they-and their realm-will die. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
