Het boek gaat over een prinses die nooit lachte. Goofy woonde samen met zijn moeder en moest van haar werk gaan zoeken in het paleis omdat ze geen geld meer hadden voor eten. De ene na de andere dag kreeg Goofy eten mee naar huis in ruil voor het werk wat hij had vertoond die dag. Elke keer weer gebeurde er iets waardoor het eten kwijt raakte. Zijn moeder gaf hem elke keer advies en dat paste Goofy toe. Op de laatste dag had Goofy een koe gekregen in ruil voor zijn diensten. Hij droeg de koe op zijn nek naar huis, langs de prinses. De prinses zag dit en begon met lachen. Goofy mocht uiteindelijk met zijn moeder in het paleis wonen.

Dit boek is een leuk voorleesboek voor kleine kinderen. Vroeger vond ik dit een super leuk boek om uit voorgelezen te worden. ( )

As I have mentioned in my other reviews, these Wonderful World of Reading books really are a bit of a mixed bag, but this particular book stands out as one of the better ones in the collection.

Poor son (Goofy) living with his mother - much like the Jack in the bean stalk story, goes on quest to the royal castle to find work. There, under the gaze of the pan faced princess, the left footed Goofy trips, slips and falls about in his usual inept way, which had my own little princess laughing from her belly! But the princess in the story stayed aloof - until Goofy tries to carry a whole cow back home on his shoulders at which point she laughed so hard her stomach hurt! Well, wouldn't yours?

The story even finishes with 'And they all lived happily ever after'. Perfect! ( )

it was a funny book. goofy did a lot of funny stuff. ( )
