This a great book for an early reader. The book is great because of the simplicity of the text. The words are small as well as the sentences. Most of the pages do not contain full sentences instead they include a “…” to lead to the text on the next page. I think this makes the story more engaging for the reader because they want to know what is going to happen on the next page. I also liked this book because of the topic of focus. The book is about how a child’s Dad is awesome. I think this is a very relatable topic to young children. Most young children look up to their Dad or parent and want to be just like them. I think this book is an easy read and can be very relatable to them. Students can begin to think of the reasons why they think their Dad is awesome, and it could be a great discussion starter in the classroom or for a Father’s Day activity. I think the main idea of this book is to describe a child’s love for their Dad. ( )

This book made me laugh out loud! It has very goofy illustrations, and is so random which makes it entertaining to read. This is a beginner realistic fiction picture book for kindergarten through first grade. This is an especially good book because it appreciates fathers, and I can definitely see how kids would love to relate this to their own dad! This was definitely a very cute beginner story, with the main message of appreciating fathers. ( )

This simple book is all about an awesome dad who can do so many things, from running like a cheetah to telling the funniest joke in the world. Two of the pages show dad with a mixed-race group of children, who could be seen either as his own family or just kids having fun with such an awesome dad. Review by Book Dads ( )
