Review: People of The Thunder by W. Michael Gear 4* 06/10/2023

I've always enjoyed the Gear's North America's creative style of writing. I like the information and the description of Native Americans' lives and beliefs that flow throughout their books. They also gathered some data on the archaeology and cultures of these people through sites out of the Mississippi Valley and other regions.
The scene is set around 1300 A.D. I liked their characters and the story plot. The rivalry between neighboring tribes held both scenes of violence and deception. Their historical fiction was great and interesting. Old White and Trader continue their adventures as they approach Split City and their other destinations. ( )

People of the Thunder, the sequel to The People of the Weeping Eye, was as usual for the Gear's, an interesting, and informative story. The Gear's weave their knowledge of archeology, prehistoric Native Americans, and myth, into a provoking story that you don't want to put down. There are so many interesting characters that you follow throughout the story, as well as a sense of mystery to the plot. I would definitely recommend this book, but you really need to read The People of the Weeping Eye first. ( )

Slow for a Gear, but the story continues to build..to an unexpected twist at the end.
Old White, Trader and the Contrary continue their adventures as they approach Split Sky City and their destinies. ( )
