On vacation in Mexico, George and Vicka, a professional couple from the Bay area, fall in love with a sleepy seaside town and optimistically decide to build a second home. In a series of hilarious encounters, they soon learn that nothing prepared them for dealing with such crooks as Manual, an unscrupulous architect who, with his clan, has perfected the fleecing of gringos to the state of the art; or the beautiful Alicia, whose appetite for dishonest schemes would put a hungry piranha to shame. In the struggle not to lose their investment, George and Vicka acquire a new wisdom and mucho experience. In the process, they meet many colorful and interesting people.
