Ed Emberley and his children, Rebecca and Michael, have each presented a collection of their own work which includes biographies, stories and poems to delight young children. From triangles to triceratops, most of them concern the number three. Ed's section includes a trilogy of fairy tales: The Three Little Pigs, The Three Bears, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Rebecca presents her biography in the form of a scrapbook of family pictures, and her humorous poetry and some recipes are complimented by applique and paper cutouts. Michael's biography is told in comic book format and his stories and poems are illustrated in a wide range of styles, my favorite of which are his beautiful watercolors. The art from this trio of author/illustrators is amazing - I love looking at it. The 3-D effect on the end papers is especially fascinating - I can almost pick up some of those objects. ( )
