This is a great book to read to children! It was super funny seeing how the cat and the rat did not want to help with the chores or cooking breakfast, but they sure did want to eat it. The little red hen got snatched up by the fox but thankfully the little red hen was able to outsmart the fox and get away safely! The fox was sleeping so he did not know the little red hen got away until he went to cook him that night an instead of a little red hen falling out of the sack, a big green rock fell out! ( )

The little red hen lived with a rat and a cat. The little red hen was captured one day by a fox because of his tricky ways. However, the hen used her sense and escaped the trap while the fox lived with the consequences of his actions. Nursery tales are a great way to teach children lessons without directly telling them what not to do. This nursery rhyme can teach children to not talk to strangers. The hen should have not went to scratch the foxes back and because she did she was captured. Luckily, she found her way out of the situation, but in all reality she should of never went over their in the first place. ( )

The author creates a story that reveals friendship that is laced with laziness and greed. The cat and rat, house mates with the hen, don't want to help do anything leaving the hen stuck to cook. When the hen is captured by a fox she is resourceful enough to escape a sack and sew a rock in place of herself. She returns home to her friends feeling satisfied. ( )

This version of The Little Hen is much different than the story I was once told. In this story there was a fox that kidnapped the hen and had planned on eating her. I like this version because the hen out smarts the fox. ( )
