A sweet book. Lovely pictures illustrate a bedtime routine.

Ehhh. Honestly, I thought it was boring. A little girl only likes things that are blue. But mama gets her settled down, and shows how everything is blue. ( )

Little kid going to bed is given lots of things to help her by her mama. She wants everything to be blue! and imagines it thusly. Her initial demands, and the way she is able to adapt to reality with some imagination, feels very true to life.[return][return]Not much to this, but it's a sweet going-to-bed book, and affirming of parental caretaking. ( )

Although a 2009 Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book, this tale of a little girl who wants everything to be blue at bedtime was disappointing, both the ink, watercolor, and gouache pictures and the story line. ( )

Alice only likes the color blue, but her mother helps her to fall asleep using her other senses to enjoy things, until she turns out the light and everything turns blue. ( )
