I loved this book and thought it was a great compliment to the movie. The movie is one of my all time favourites, largely because I'm obsessed with Egyptian mythology. Have you ever seen a movie and found yourself begging for more? This book totally satisfies that. It goes much deeper into the characters and explores more of their personalities and "inner workings." It fills a lot of holes that were in the movies, simply because you can't peer into characters' thoughts in movies the same way you can in books. ( ) For some reason my elementary school was selling this book and I decided to buy it when I was in forth grade, I have no idea why they were selling it there because its a rather vulgar and horror filled book. The descriptions are good, and there are plenty of gross mummifying details to go around. The story is overly complicated and I never really like Egyptian myths or mummies very much, but an OK read. A surprisingly good novelization of the newer Mummy movie with Brendan Fraser and Oded Fehr. The characters are not as flat as most normal, they are decently rounded. It's what all novelizations reach for, but rarely acheieve: to not QUITE be a book good enough that no one will buy the movie, but instead one that will provoke thought of how the two compare. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
