Crux Ansata: An Indictment of the Roman Catholic Church, by H. G. Wells. When most people think of the great H. G. Wells what comes to mind are his science fiction books like The War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man & others. Yet Wells was a brilliant man who was deeply interested in history & current events. This book alleges to be a searing indictment of the Roman Catholic Church. Though it may indeed have been controversial when it was released, at this point it is just plain boring. It details Catholic doctrine, and from time to time mildly protests some of the practices, but it really isn't truly an expose. Pass on this; there are many better, and more itneresting, sources. ( )
