This book contains much more information about the formation of the unit and the logistics needed to create such a group within the military. 'Inside Delta Force' has more information from the perspective of an early recruit. Both books should be read to get a good picture of the unit. ( ) Beckwith details the inception of Delta in Vietnam, working with the British SAS, followed by the causes of the failed Iranian hostage rescue attempt. Focused and interesting for those inclined to relish random observations about US military and political personalities (eg. H. Moore, President J. Carter). Excellent detached self-evaluation of his own shortcomings in Operation Eagle Claw. A very rare self-critique by an actual personage involved some of the most ambitious of US military operations. The book ends with the creation of Special Operations Command. I was amazed by Beckwith's honesty in revealing his worst nightmare imaginable; hostage loaded helicopters colliding in the Tehran soccer stadium. Glossary, Maps, Index, 8 pages of B/W photos. Written by the founder and first commander of the Delta Force, the late Col. C. Beckwith. Traces the history of the Delta Force and his thoughts on why the US military needs an anti-terror unit. [Review continues in Indonesian] Gaya bahasanya lebih enak dibaca dibandingkan gaya bahasa Lt. Cmdr. Dick Marcinko dalam buku "Rogue Warrior" (pendiri kesatuan SEAL Team Six, pasukan anti teroris AL AS dan kesatuan Red Cell AL AS) [lihat http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?searchbox=rogue warrior&Search=Search&sau=0], karena Delta Force ditulis dengan gaya bahasa yang lebih 'halus' dan santun. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
