Ezra Pound: Poet remains committed to a belief in Pound’s genius, and whether or not Moody’s readers come away convinced, he has written the most intelligent and learned biography to date of one of the twentieth century’s most divisive and influential writers. This second volume of A. David Moody's full-scale portrait, covering Ezra Pound's middle years, weaves together into a single highly readable and challenging narrative, in a way that has not been done before, the illuminating story of his life, his achievement as a poet and a composer, and his one-man crusade for economic justice. i'm very excited to read this criticism as applied to EP's post-20s work on the cantos. the only misgiving i have in this first volume is that it may be a little too comprehensive on the point of very early work ( A Lume Spento, etc. ), work that isn't always worth reading itself, let alone reading convoluted analysis of.
