Clouds of Witness Review:
Members of Lord Peter Wimsey's family become suspect when a dead body is found at a hunting lodge in Yorkshire, and a charge of murder is quickly brought against Peter's brother, the Duke of Denver. Lots of humor and an intriguing mystery all in one book. Recommended.

The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club

Clouds of Witness pits Lord Wimsey against his own brother's stubborn refusal to produce an alibi for the violent death of a man he has publicly quarreled with. The discussions with Denver's legal team are more frustrating for Wimsey as he realizes that they regard his investigations with mixed feelings. What if his investigations produce evidence that is more incriminating for their client rather than less? Lord Peter is convinced of his brother's innocence but working a case in which he has strong personal feelings puts new pressures on him. Meanwhile Inspector Parker reveals depths of character we have not previously seen. ( )
