This is a wonderful book that shows children some of the animals that are native to the Northwest. The photographs are beautiful and show the animals in their natural habitat. Great for children of all ages.

This book is packed with great information about the young animals that grow up in the Northwest. For example, did you know that baby opossums are the size of a honeybee, and that they hang out in their mothers pouch, not unlike a kangaroo? How about the fact that bobcat kittens grow to their full size in just nine months? Apparently porcupines are both soft and cuddly as babies, but it doesn't take long until their quills harden. Also, crow fledglings may live up to 10 years of age, and they are known for their excellent problem solving abilities. Filled with information about special adaptations and interesting facts, this book will make you want to know even more about the animals that are introduced within.
