The conflict is almost incidental to the reforming of the group and that leads to, I think, a weaker overall story. Also, he tells the story in pieces which makes it more difficult to follow as a coherent whole. It's an okay read, but I tend to expect more from Geoff Johns. The art is what redeems this one. The world isn't totally in love with Superheroes anymore. And as more and more of them appear they aren't as in control and sometimes they don't play by the same rules that the old guard used to. So the 'founding fathers' of the JSA decide to invite a new bunch of heroes into the fold. Teach them, mentor them. I really liked the quote by Batman that the JLA is the strike force, and the JSA is a family. I also liked how all the different stories were intertwined. And I did also like the art. The characters all looked different. No 'male' face and 'female' face in this TPB. A very cool start to 'The Next Age' of this super hero team. The Justice Society of America is DC’s way of explaining the older superheroes from the 1940’s and how they fit in the DC Universe of today. Their ranks include the original Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman as well as Wildcat, a tough ex-boxer who never seems to die and Powergirl, whose origins have changed many times. The story is about the reformation of the team as an outcome of Infinite Crisis, a major restructuring of the DC world. It is a tradition to recruit new members from relatives of past JSA team mates. They bring in three young new recruits who all have issues to work through. At the same time someone is targeting the families of the superheroes to stop them from becoming new members. The story is engaging and well written and the art work is great. I will definitely look at other graphic novels in this series. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
