This is one of my all time favorite Hannah Howell novels. I adore the setting and the premise, but what makes the book for me is the heroine. Storm Eldon is witty and quick, with an inner core of strength I admire. I kind of want to be her when I grow up. Tavis MacLagen, her hero, can be kind of a whiny bitch sometimes, but Storm, his family and hers, and all the other characters, more than make up for this. Storm and Tavis have an interesting relationship through this book. It was facinating to watch it develop. My favorite part in this book is when Storm explains to her father that women can feel desire and passion the same way men do. That they can also miss it when the man isn't there. The only reason I didn't give the book a full 5 stars is a scene between Storm and Tavis's brother. (I'm not saying more about it. That will spoil things.) Still, I highly recommend this book. It was an excellent read. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

New York Times bestselling author Hannah Howell traverses the embattled border between England and Scotland, where two warring families prolong centuries of discord. . . Storm Eldon was first caught up in the war between England and Scotland as a young girl, when she and her family were held hostage by their sworn enemies, the MacLagans. Years later, Storm finds herself trapped in the clutches of her Scottish adversaries once again. Now she must fight to preserve her loyalties, guard her virtue, and resist the charms of Tavis MacLagan, her handsome Highland captor. . . Praise for Hannah Howell and her Highland novels "Few authors portray the Scottish highlands as lovingly or colorfully." --Publishers Weekly "Another classic." --Romantic Times Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
